So you’ve found a mark. Now what?
Whether you discovered Runes & Roses online, at a crystal shop, or somewhere in the convention wilds, here’s everything you need to know about your temporary tattoo kit.
What exactly is Runes & Roses?
Runes & Roses creates artist-designed jagua tattoo kits and wearable fantasy artifacts inspired by gothic themes, dark fantasy, folklore, cosplay, alternative fashion, and everything nerdy.
Each collection is designed as its own little universe, with original artwork, symbols, lore, and collectible packaging.
What is a jagua tattoo?
Jagua is a temporary body-art stain made from the fruit of the jagua plant. Unlike an ink-based temporary tattoo, jagua stains the outer layers of your skin, giving it the appearance of a real tattoo while it gradually fades as your skin naturally exfoliates. If you’re familiar with henna, it works essentially the same way, but it is a dark navy blue instead of a deep brown.
How do I apply my tattoo?
Every kit includes instructions specific to the product. Follow the included instructions carefully, especially regarding application time and aftercare.
How long does a jagua tattoo last?
Typically, jagua tattoos last about 1–2 weeks, depending on the placement, your skin, and how quickly that area naturally exfoliates. Some tattoos may fade sooner or last longer.
Why does my tattoo look light at first?
That’s normal!
Jagua develops over time. It may initially appear faint and gradually become darker over the following hours. Don’t panic. It’s just being dramatic.
Can I put it anywhere?
Jagua is intended for external skin application only.
Avoid applying it to broken, irritated, or damaged skin, and follow the safety instructions included with your particular kit.

Do you accept returns?
Because our kits contain fresh jagua gel that is prepared specifically for use as temporary body art, we do not accept returns or exchanges. Once the product has shipped, we cannot safely put it back into inventory or resell it.
That said, if there is a problem with your order, please contact me. I’m happy to help. If your kit arrives damaged, has a missing item, or you experience an issue with the product, contact me and I’ll work with you to find a solution.
What if something is damaged/missing from my kit?
Mistakes happen, even in the archive. If something is missing from your kit, contact me as soon as possible with your order information and a description of what’s missing, and I’ll work with you on an appropriate solution.
What if I’m having trouble with my tattoo?
If your tattoo isn’t developing as expected or you’re having trouble with the application, reach out before giving up on it! I’m happy to help troubleshoot application or product questions.
For the best results, make sure you’re following the application and aftercare instructions included with your kit.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
If you need to make a change or cancel an order, contact me as soon as possible. I can make changes only if the order has not already been prepared or shipped.
Once an order has entered the shipping process, I may no longer be able to make changes.
